Daedong Group's future agtech platform company Daedong (Co-CEO: Kim Jun-Sik and Won Yu-Hyun) shared news on May 21 that it has acquired the international certificate for information security management system (ISO 27001) from LRQA (headquartered in the UK), which is expected to make the company’s business more competitive on the global stage and help systemize information protection for its future business.
Daedong’s newly certified information security management system is the latest version that reflects new developments in the digital environment such as artificial intelligence, cloud, and IoT. To earn the certificate, systems have to satisfy ISO standards for 93 items across a total of four areas related to information security. This includes information protection policy, physical/technical security, and information access control, all required by the ISO (International Organization for Standardization). This latest successful certification is a clear indicator that Daedong remains committed to building a stronger information protection and management system in line with the rapidly changing environment surrounding information security, and also systematically protecting its information assets. ISO certification is valid for three years upon acquisition. To sustain the certification, a follow-up review is required every year.
Going forward, Daedong expects to speed up its cooperation and build trust with its partners around the world using its new certification that proves, using a renowned certification scheme, the company’s capacity to protect information. In addition, Daedong is hoping to expedite its business by eliminating the soft spots in its information security infrastructure (e.g. information systems and networks), which is essential for promoting the company's future businesses in data, platforms, and AI-based smart agricultural machinery, smart farms, and robots, and for improving security.
