Daedong officially launches agricultural transport robot... Accelerating its entry into the robotics market
- Introduces “RT100” to solve agricultural issues in the field and present a new work environment
- The company plans to establish a foundation for dominating the agricultural robot market by targeting domestic fruit orchards
- Daedong hosts the Daedong Convention to announce the future direction of its agriculture business and reward outstanding dealers
Daedong, a leader and pioneer in future agriculture, is looking to become the first in its industry to enter the agricultural robot market in Korea.
Daedong (co-CEOs Kim Jun-Sik and Won Yu-Hyun) announced on February 17 that it officially launched its new agricultural transport robot “RT100” at the “2025 Daedong Convention Korea.”

The domestic agricultural transport vehicle market sells 6,000 or so units annually, and the demand for autonomous mobile robots is rapidly increasing. Daedong predicts that the market will grow by an average of 27.5% or more over the next five years, which is why it developed an autonomous transport robot. This product is expected to create a new agricultural environment that can offer a possible solution to the aging rural population and labor shortage problems, and improve productivity to respond to climate change and worldwide population growth.
With its eyes set on the fruit market, the transport robot RT100 comes in two models - a wire-guided model and an autonomous model, and both models focus on minimizing manual input to eliminate the inconvenience of farmers having to continuously operate the machinery they are using while harvesting fruits. Daedong plans to first release the wire-guided transport robot in February, followed by the autonomous transport robot in April.

The RT100 uses a wire, making it easy for women and elderly farmers to operate, and makes harvesting and other tasks much easier as it follows the user at a certain distance. In particular, the robot can rotate 360 degrees in place, which makes it effective on narrow farm roads or trails in fruit orchards. Another advantage of the RT100 is that it reduces user work fatigue with a silent, vibration-free, and emission-free electrified system, while also enabling users to work indoors. It also features a four-wheel drive system to help easily navigate various rough terrains, and is equipped with a maximum 300kg loading capacity, a lift, and dump functions. Additionally, the RT100 maximizes work efficiency with an added autonomous driving function, which the user can configure from the user settings menu.
With the launch of the RT100, Daedong plans to establish a foundation for dominating the agricultural robot market early by focusing on domestic fruit orchards with strategies such as ▲word-of-mouth, viral marketing on product performance, ▲building sales/service networks using Daedong dealerships, and ▲preparing support policies to help farms buy the robot. In the medium to long term, Daedong aims to supply 10,000 transport robots in total by 2029 by ▲developing work attachment modules for RT100 designed to help with pest control/harvesting/weeding/spraying, ▲building robot lineups for different types of agriculture such as open fields and greenhouses, ▲strengthening AI agricultural technologies like swarm navigation and autonomous driving, and ▲entering other industrial markets such as factories, construction sites, and logistics warehouses.
