Daedong Launches Industry’s First Extended Warranty Product for Agricultural Machinery

- The free warranty period for key components of tractors and skid loaders can now be extended up to three years
- Free inspections and repairs are provided if any issues arise with covered parts, reducing financial burden and offering greater peace of mind
- The company says, “We put customer satisfaction first and will deliver even more differentiated service in the warranty sector”

Daedong, a leader and pioneer in future agriculture (Co-CEOs Kim Jun-sik and Won Yu-hyun), announced on May 13 that it has launched “Warranty Extension Plus,” the industry’s first product that allows the free warranty period for major components of Daedong tractors and skid loaders to be extended up to three years.

Warranty extensions are already a common service in the automotive industry, and Daedong introduced this offering to strengthen customer preference and loyalty. Tractors and skid loaders are typically used outdoors in harsh conditions for five to ten years, which puts them under significant physical stress and can lead to unexpected breakdowns. For this reason, warranty extension products offer customers significant advantages by reducing their financial burden and providing greater peace of mind.

Daedong has designed the “Warranty Extension Plus” to accommodate various usage environments, offering two options for tractors and three for skid loaders. For tractors, there are two options: an extension of either two years or 500 hours, and an extension of three years or 1,000 hours. For skid loaders, there are three options: a one-year extension, a two-year or 1,000-hour extension, and a three-year or 1,000-hour extension. Using this program, customers who enroll can receive free inspections and repairs for up to five years, combining the basic two-year warranty with an additional three years. Any customer who has purchased a product through a Daedong dealership can apply for the “Warranty Extension Plus” service within 18 months of the purchase contract date.

For tractors, the “Warranty Extension Plus” covers parts in the hydraulic system, electrical system, and exterior components, including various types of valves, cylinders, hoses, switches, shift levers, and fuel tanks. For skid loaders, all internal engine components, as well as motors, pumps, valves, and cylinders within the hydraulic system, are covered. However, consumable parts such as rubber hoses, tires, oil, and filters, as well as implement parts and any damage caused by customer negligence, are not covered by the warranty. More details on the parts covered and excluded by the “Warranty Extension Plus,” as well as information on how to purchase the service, can be obtained at any Daedong dealership.

Lee Yong-dae, Head of Daedong’s Parts Service Division, stated, “‘Warranty Extension Plus” provides customers with long-term stability and economic benefits, and is an important service that helps maintain optimal machine performance.” He added, “Daedong will continue to put customer satisfaction first and offer even more differentiated services in the warranty sector.”

Meanwhile, since 2021, Daedong has offered the industry’s longest free warranty for tractor engines and transmissions, providing coverage for 10 years or 3,000 hours. For engines, the warranty covers parts such as the cylinder block, cylinder head, oil pan, and connecting rod (engine components excluding peripheral devices and electrical parts). For transmissions, it covers the clutch, transmission, brake, reduction gear, and the combination of front and rear axles. However, oil seals, O-rings, and gaskets are covered for five years or 1,500 hours. Moreover, Daedong provides a service through its telematics (TMS) monitoring system that allows users to check for faults in the engine, transmission, and other components of each product via the “Connect App.”
