Jeju Daedong is launching a "Local Synergy Platform" to support small business owners and artists in Jeju.

Jeju Daedong[i] (CEO Won Yu-Hyun), a subsidiary of Daedong, a leading company in future agriculture, announced on May 27 that it will regularly host the direct-trade marketplace Greenscape Market and hold a special exhibition featuring Jeju artists as part of its efforts to promote regional synergy and cultural exchange.

Jeju Daedong (CEO Won Yu-hyun) hosted the first "Greenscape Market" on May 24–25 inside the Greenscape complex. The "Greenscape Market," an event featuring products from local small businesses, handicraft artisans, and sixth-industry enterprises, will continue as a regular event through October, taking place every second and fourth weekend.

"The Greenscape Market" is an event showcasing products from local small businesses, artisans, and sixth-industry enterprises in Jeju. It will be set up in the outdoor garden next to Jejudang Bakery Café (hereafter "Jejudang Café")[ii], covering an area of 1,100㎡ (approx. 330 pyeong). The market has also been selected as part of the "Regional Innovation Project," jointly promoted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, and the Jeju Tourism Organization, under the wider Jeju Tourism Premium Project. Jeju Daedong announced that the market will be operated in close partnership with the Jeju Agricultural Convergence Industry Support Center, local flea market operators, and regional farms.

The market will feature three themed sections: a Flea Market – showcasing handicrafts, clothing, accessories, and hands-on experience programs; a Sixth-Industry Market – offering locally processed foods; and a Farmers’ Market – providing direct trade of local agricultural products Through the "Greenscape Market," Jeju Daedong seeks to give local small businesses a platform to promote their products and reach new customers, while offering visitors the chance to discover Jeju’s unique specialties and cultural experiences. In doing so, the company aims to strengthen its role as a true "local synergy platform."

Following its successful debut event held on May 24–25, Jeju Daedong announced that the "Greenscape Market" will run regularly from June through October, operating twice a month on the second and fourth weekends. Jeju Daedong also plans to host special editions of the market during major seasons, including traditional holidays, the summer vacation period, and Christmas. Business owners, local residents, and tourists interested in the "Greenscape Market" can find more information through the official Instagram accounts of Greenscape and Jejudang Café, both operated by Jeju Daedong.

Jeju Daedong (CEO Won Yu-hyun) is also hosting a special exhibition with leading local artists. The exhibition will remain open to the public free of charge until June 8, showcasing a wide range of works in which Jeju artists interpret the island’s nature, memories, and people through art.

At the same time, Jeju Daedong is presenting a special exhibition at Jejudang Café under the theme "Art in Everyday Life, Jeju in Art." The exhibition, organized in collaboration with the art platform "Art in Jeju," brings together 14 artists from the island, including established names such as Kim Yong-hwan, Na Kang, Moon Chang-bae, and Chae Ki-seon, alongside 10 emerging and young creators. The exhibition will remain open to the public free of charge until June 8, showcasing a wide range of works in which Jeju artists interpret the island’s nature, memories, and people through art.

Following this special exhibition, Jeju Daedong is exploring the idea of transforming part of Jejudang into an open space dedicated to art displays and cultural programs. Positioning itself as a cultural platform that connects art with the local community and everyday spaces, the company aims to provide local artists with ongoing opportunities for creation and exhibition, while giving both residents and visitors the chance to engage with art as a natural part of daily life.
