‘Daedong Connect Welcomes Agricultural Machinery Expert and Disaster Forecast Specialist’
Daedong Connect Introduces AI-Based Machinery Consultation and Disaster Alert Services
-. “AI Daedongi” draws on data across all Daedong machinery models to offer tailored consultation services
-. Disaster warnings far more precise than the Meteorological Agency... key events forecast up to ten days in advance
-. Service to be further enhanced this year with pest/disease data and agricultural literature
Daedong (Co-CEOs Kim Jun-sik and Won Yu-hyun), a leader in future agriculture, announced on September 1, 2025, that it has completed the third major update of its AI-based agriculture platform, the Daedong Connect app, introducing large-language-model (LLM) technology for agricultural machinery consultation and disaster alert services.

With this update, Daedong has upgraded its AI chatbot “AI Daedongi” by training it on user guides and catalogues from all Daedong machinery models. The chatbot now provides a comprehensive consultation service that covers everything from equipment operation and troubleshooting to maintenance guidance. Users can interact with AI Daedongi using text, voice, photos, or attached files. The app also features video manuals for each product, enabling users to perform self-diagnosis and reduce the time and cost associated with after-sales service.
In addition, a disaster alert service developed with the Rural Development Administration has been added to the app. Using a 30-meter grid forecasting model - significantly more precise than the 5-kilometer grid used by the Korea Meteorological Administration - the service can predict major weather events such as heavy rain, snow, or drought up to ten days in advance. Through the Connect app, users can monitor real-time disaster information and receive step-by-step farming guidance from AI Daedongi before, during, and after extreme weather conditions. This helps farmers manage crop growth and minimize potential losses more effectively.

Since its launch in 2021, Daedong has continued to upgrade the Connect app each year, developing it into a comprehensive platform that leads the adoption of smart-farming infrastructure. Initially focused on remote monitoring and control of farming equipment, the app has steadily expanded to include agricultural data services and AI-powered consultation, earning strong feedback for improving usability and field productivity. Later this year, Daedong plans to further enhance AI Daedongi by adding pest and disease data from the Rural Development Administration along with curated agricultural research materials. These additions will enable the chatbot to provide more advanced and specialized guidance to users.
As of July 2025, the Daedong Connect app surpassed 30,000 total subscribers. Its user base has expanded to include returning farmers, new settlers in rural communities, and urban agriculture enthusiasts. Daedong aims to reach 40,000 users by the end of this year and 200,000 by 2030 through ongoing service improvements and platform upgrades.
