Daedong AILab to Link AI Services with RDA in Korea’s First Public–Private Agricultural AI Agent Collaboration
-. RDA-validated agricultural technology information will be combined with Daedong’s field-focused AI services to strengthen tailored farming support for farmers.
-. An interoperability framework for public- and private-sector AI agents will expand collaboration across Korea’s agricultural AI ecosystem.
-. Plans call for further integration with telephone-based AI farming assistants, AI agricultural machinery and agricultural robots.
Daedong AILab (CEO Choi Joonki), the artificial intelligence (AI) specialist of Daedong Group, a leader in future agriculture, announced on June 26, 2026, that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to link public- and private-sector agricultural AI agents with the Rural Development Administration (RDA; Administrator Lee Seung-don).

The agreement aims to connect RDA’s public agricultural technology information with Daedong AILab’s field-focused AI farming assistant service, making AI farming services easier to use and more accurate for farmers. The core aim is to improve the reliability and practical usefulness of agricultural AI services by combining expert agricultural knowledge validated by a public institution with a private company’s customer touchpoints and field data.
At the heart of the collaboration are RDA’s agricultural AI service, ‘AI Isagi,’ and Daedong Group’s private-sector AI farming assistant, ‘AI Daedongi.’ AI Isagi provides public agricultural knowledge services based on RDA’s validated agricultural technology information. AI Daedongi provides farming services tailored to on-farm needs through the Daedong Connect app, including guidance on using agricultural machinery and advice on crop cultivation, pests and diseases.
The two organizations will first integrate AI Isagi’s agricultural technology information into AI Daedongi, so that users who ask AI Daedongi farming-related questions can access both Daedong’s field-focused services and RDA’s validated information. Statistics on key questions and voice-of-the-customer (VOC) feedback from the field collected through AI Daedongi will also be shared with RDA to continuously improve service quality.
The collaboration is also significant as a starting point for building an agricultural AI ecosystem in which public- and private-sector AI connect as a single service, going beyond simple information sharing between individual AI services. Daedong AILab plans to develop an open agricultural AI agent architecture that can integrate with a range of external AI services, creating an environment in which farmers can find the information they need in one place and use it to make real-world farming decisions.
Daedong AILab is expanding its services to include a telephone-based AI farming assistant, making them easier to use for older farmers who have difficulty using smartphones or apps. In the long term, it plans to connect its AI farming assistant with physical AI, including agricultural machinery with autonomous driving capabilities and agricultural robots, to develop a more advanced AI agricultural service spanning consultation, recordkeeping, analysis and task execution.
