Daedong Robotics, Daedong Group’s AI robotics subsidiary (co-CEOs: Won Yu-hyun, Yeo Jun-gu), announced on July 28 that it has officially entered the Korean smart agriculture market with the launch of its government-certified autonomous transport robot.

This autonomous transport robot is the first in Korea to obtain certification as an “autonomous agricultural power carrier” from the Korea Agriculture Technology Promotion Agency (KOAT). The model builds on the wired (wire-following) transport robot introduced last February, upgraded with a 3D camera, LiDAR for obstacle detection, and dual RTK antennas, enabling it to recognize its surroundings independently and perform precise autonomous driving. The robot is designed to improve work convenience by enabling movement and cargo bed operations (lift and dump) through a wireless remote control. A three-sided open deck further enhances efficiency when loading and unloading materials.
With the dedicated app "Daedong Robot Service," users can not only monitor the robot’s real-time location but also conveniently manage functions such as changing the departure point, adjusting speed, and setting routes and stopping points - all remotely. Autonomous driving functions can be activated and controlled in two ways: via the app or through dedicated control switches on the robot itself. The robot also features a shared control option, allowing multiple users to register and operate the same unit.
Using the app, operators can register up to ten autonomous driving routes and designate up to eleven stopping points, tailoring transport to fit specific work needs. Even while in autonomous mode, the robot allows destination changes, stop adjustments, and return commands, so operators only need to handle loading and unloading at the designated points. This dramatically reduces both the physical demands and repetitive tasks of farm work.
The product is available for purchase at more than 150 Daedong dealerships nationwide, and to further improve accessibility, a rental service is currently being piloted. For rental inquiries, please visit the official Daedong Robotics website. Daedong Robotics anticipates that its autonomous transport robot will extend its applications beyond agriculture to industries such as construction, positioning itself as a leading smart logistics solution across diverse sectors.
Since entering the agricultural robotics market in February, the company has been accelerating the advancement of its transport robots. Building on autonomous driving capabilities, Daedong Robotics is now developing multifunctional robots equipped with AI-based voice recognition and tools for tasks such as crop protection and weeding. Moving forward, the company plans to continue expanding its product lineup by introducing customized smart farming solutions tailored to field needs.
