Daedong Joins the “K-On-Device AI Semiconductor Alliance”

-. Daedong joins forces with industry leaders to promote Korea’s national AI semiconductor strategy
-. The company continues to lead the expansion of AI-driven agriculture and farming robotics while exploring partnerships with specialized technology firms
-. New advanced products, including a Level-4 autonomous tractor and a voice-recognition transport robot, set to launch in the first half of next year

Daedong (Co-CEOs Kim Jun-sik and Won Yu-hyun) announced on October 1, 2025 that it has joined the “K-On-Device AI Semiconductor Alliance” as a key player in the agricultural AI sector.

The alliance was officially launched on September 30 at the Seongnam Global Convergence Center, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, with the goal of building a cooperative public–private ecosystem and strengthening national competitiveness in AI semiconductors as a strategic industry. Participants included end-user companies, fabless semiconductor designers, foundries, and IP providers. More than 150 industry leaders, including Minister Kim Jeong-gwan, attended the event to celebrate the launch and pledge closer collaboration.

Through this alliance, Daedong plans to accelerate the robotization of agricultural machinery and the broader adoption of AI in agriculture. During the event, the company emphasized the importance of on-device AI SoC semiconductors optimized for agricultural applications. These chips, along with AI-based hardware platforms and task-specific AI models, are expected to speed up the transition of tractors and combines into robotic machinery and enable the development of intelligent agricultural robots.

Daedong is also exploring partnerships with specialized firms in areas such as handling operations, precision control, and fleet management, aiming to build an integrated platform capable of supporting a wide range of agricultural tasks. This collaborative ecosystem will help commercialize AI agricultural machinery and bring advanced technologies to farms more quickly, ultimately improving productivity and efficiency in the field.

The company will continue to strengthen its AI agricultural robotics capabilities, focusing on technologies that support mobility, field operations, and cultivation. Based on real-world farming data, Daedong is advancing both AI model training and control system development to enhance precision and reliability. Looking ahead, Daedong plans to launch new products equipped with on-device AI semiconductor technologies, including a Level-4 autonomous tractor and a voice-recognition autonomous transport robot, in the first half of next year.
