Daedong (Co-CEOs Kim Jun-sik and Won Yu-hyun), a leader in future agriculture, announced on June 18 that it posted consolidated revenue of KRW 377.7 billion and operating profit of KRW 6 billion for the first quarter of 2026. Revenue was down 2.4% year on year, while operating profit declined due to softer demand in the global agricultural machinery market, the impact of U.S. tariffs, and increased investment in future growth areas centered on AI and robotics.

In the first quarter, global agricultural machinery demand weakened overall amid high interest rates and slower economic growth. In North America, sales recovery was delayed as weaker farmer purchasing sentiment and lower financing approval rates weighed on demand. In Europe, market growth also slowed amid the broader economic downturn.
Even against this market backdrop, Daedong is pressing ahead with its shift into an AI agricultural operating platform company built on Agricultural Physical AI. The platform brings together AI tractors, agricultural robots, precision farming and smart farming. In the first quarter, Daedong strengthened the foundation for AI tractor sales by holding nationwide demonstrations of Korea’s first autonomous tractor powered by vision AI. The company also won the KRW 254.6 billion National Agricultural AX Platform project.
In North America, Daedong aims to add 100 new dealers this year while improving the overall quality of its dealer network by focusing on high-performing partners with strong sales capabilities. The company has already met its first-quarter dealer acquisition target and expects to secure at least 50 high-quality dealers in the first half. Daedong is also expanding its market reach by developing new channels in Northern Europe and strengthening its direct sales capabilities in Germany, with a focus on enhancing competitiveness in premium channels.
From the second quarter, Daedong will focus on improving earnings by targeting the North American peak season, increasing AI tractor sales and carrying out cost innovation initiatives. The company aims to sell up to 300 AI tractors this year and expand package sales that combine precision farming solutions with transport robots. For 2026, Daedong is targeting consolidated revenue of KRW 1.65 trillion, up about 11% year on year. The company also aims to expand its dealer networks to at least 600 locations each in North America and Europe.
