Daedong and Daedong Mobility Both Win at the 2026 Red Dot Design Award
-. Daedong’s RMRP-100 wins a main award for its autonomous robotic platform design optimized for upland farming in Korea.
-. Daedong Mobility’s modular electric mobility platform wins its second global design award.
-. Daedong Group reaffirms its global design competitiveness, following D-ACT’s award success in 2024.
Daedong (Co-CEOs Kim Jun-Sik and Won Yu-Hyun), a leader in future agriculture, and Daedong Mobility (CEO Won Yu-Hyun) announced on June 15, 2026, that each had won a main award in the Design Concept category of Germany’s ‘2026 Red Dot Design Award,’ regarded as one of the world’s three leading design awards.

The award-winning designs are Daedong’s ‘RMRP-100 (Robot Multi-Role Platform)’¹, a multi-platform agricultural robot, and Daedong Mobility’s ‘DDM Modular Mobility Platform’². Through these wins, the two companies have gained global recognition for Daedong Group’s design innovation capabilities and the competitiveness of its future products across agriculture and mobility.
Daedong Group has proactively explored new business concepts not yet realized in the robotics and mobility markets. It has continued to develop concept designs to strengthen the competitiveness of future business models that reflect customer perspectives, submitting these designs to global awards. In 2024, its ‘D-ACT’ became the first agricultural robot from Asia to win main awards at Germany’s Red Dot and iF Design Awards. The latest wins follow that achievement two years on.
Daedong’s award-winning ‘RMRP-100’ is a concept design for an autonomous robotic platform tailored to upland crops, designed to address Korea’s aging rural population and the limitations of mechanizing upland farming. The platform has also been developed as a prototype. It features autonomous driving, the ability to adjust its width according to crop height and planting spacing, and electrically driven wheels. It earned high praise from the jury for its balance of practicality and design refinement.

Daedong Mobility’s award-winning ‘DDM Modular Mobility Platform’ is a multipurpose modular electric mobility platform optimized for residential communities in the U.S. Sun Belt. Its shared chassis and interchangeable upper modules allow it to take various forms, including low-speed vehicles (LSVs), cargo vehicles and autonomous robots. The platform has now won two major global design awards, adding this honor to its main award at the A’ Design Award, a prestigious competition in Italy.

The Red Dot Design Award is regarded as one of the world’s most prestigious design awards, alongside Germany’s iF Design Award and the United States’ IDEA Design Award. Each year, a panel of design experts conducts a rigorous review of entries submitted by companies and designers worldwide to select outstanding designs.

1) Using Active Suspension Leveling technology to control each wheel’s suspension independently, the RMRP-100 keeps its body and working area level even on slopes, preventing rollovers by design. Its built-in, international-standard 3-point hitch allows existing seeders and rotary tillers to be attached without modification. Physical buttons similar to conventional tractor controls, a 10.25-inch high-resolution display, and smartphone and tablet connectivity combine to create a user-centered design that is intuitive for older farmers as well.
2) The DDM Modular Mobility Platform presents a scalable platform design based on a shared chassis that houses the powertrain and battery. Simply swapping the upper module allows it to take various forms, including a 4-seat LSV, a small three-wheeled work vehicle, a last-mile cargo vehicle and an autonomous service robot. A low-floor structure and open cabin make it easy for a wide range of users, from children to older adults and people with limited mobility, to get in and out. A sleek, dynamic silhouette emphasizing the agility of electric mobility also reinforces Daedong Mobility’s brand identity.
