Daedong Rolls Out First Over-the-Air Software Update for AI Tractor, Continuing to Expand Features Tailored to On-Farm Needs
-. The first over-the-air update, delivered three months after launch, reflects customer and dealer feedback from the farming season.
-. A simple automatic steering function complements advanced autonomous operation technology, broadening on-farm usability.
-. Software-driven product improvements are underway, with plans to expand into optional and subscription-based services.
Daedong (Co-CEOs Kim Jun-Sik and Won Yu-Hyun), a leader in future agriculture, announced on August 6, 2026, that it had rolled out the first over-the-air software update for its AI tractor. The update adds “A-Motion Easy Mode,” which enables automatic steering without registering fields in advance.
“A-Motion Easy Mode” offers three ways to generate guidance paths according to field shape and working method: A-B Straight-Line Guidance, A-B Curve Guidance and A+ Heading Guidance. A-B Straight-Line Guidance creates parallel straight paths based on a starting point and an endpoint, while A-B Curve Guidance generates curved paths suited to the field’s shape based on the route driven by the user in a single pass. With A+ Heading Guidance, users enter only a starting point and a working direction. The system then generates straight paths in the specified direction and provides steering assistance to follow them.
A-Motion is Daedong’s autonomous operation system. On the AI tractor, it previously focused on advanced unmanned autonomous operation capabilities that automate driving and the full range of key farming tasks after fields have been registered in advance. Based on feedback gathered from customers, dealers and others in the agricultural community during the first farming season following the AI tractor’s launch in April 2026, Daedong added Easy Mode, making its existing automatic steering technology available without separate field registration. The feature was delivered to existing customers in late July 2026 through an over-the-air (OTA) software update via a communications network.
Easy Mode allows users to activate automatic steering immediately in the sections where it is needed, making it particularly useful on rented farmland, fields being entered for the first time and small plots where advance field registration can be cumbersome. Customers can now choose between A-Motion’s existing advanced autonomous operation capabilities and Easy Mode’s automatic steering according to field size and shape and the purpose of the work, allowing a single AI tractor to serve a wider range of farming environments.

Starting with this first over-the-air update, Daedong plans to continually incorporate customer experience and on-farm needs into its vehicle software. By applying new technologies and improvements to tractors already sold, the company aims to move beyond the limitations of conventional agricultural machinery, whose performance is fixed at the time of purchase, and deliver a product experience with continually improving functionality and convenience.
Over the medium to long term, Daedong will progressively enhance its AI tractor software so customers can choose the functions they need based on field conditions, farming practices and the type of work. It also plans to combine software services that let customers select the functions they need with data-driven services, expanding into a paid subscription-based business model.
