Daedong Showcases Agricultural AX at Government-Hosted Future Agriculture Events, Gaining Recognition for Its Technology
-. Agricultural AX solutions spanning precision agriculture, orchard robots and autonomous farming operations are presented at events attended by government officials and farmers.
-. Demonstrations feature precision agriculture for large-scale reclaimed farmland in Gimje-si and transport and mowing operations at peach farms in Yeongcheon-si.
-. An autonomous farming demonstration in Dangjin-si links the harvesting of ‘Ppareumihyang’ rice with tillage, replanting and seedling tray transport using autonomous farm machinery.
Daedong (Co-CEOs Kim Jun-Sik and Won Yu-Hyun), a leader in future agriculture, announced on August 3, 2026, that it had showcased future agriculture technologies, including AI-powered autonomous farm machinery, agricultural robots and precision agriculture, at agricultural events in July 2026. The events were hosted by government agencies and local governments in Gimje-si, Jeonbuk State; Yeongcheon-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do; and Dangjin-si, Chungcheongnam-do.
Across these events, Daedong went beyond demonstrating individual product features to show concretely how its technologies could address the challenges of each farming environment and what benefits they could deliver. On reclaimed farmland, it presented a data-driven farming model for the future; in orchards, practical examples of agricultural robots already deployed on farms; and in rice paddies, a double-cropping model combining early-harvest varieties with autonomous farm machinery. The company said the events highlighted its capabilities as a leader in agricultural AX, able to support national and local governments in testing and expanding the implementation of their future agriculture policies.
An event held on July 6, 2026, at the National Institute of Crop and Food Science’s Reclaimed Land Agriculture Research Center drew about 100 representatives from government agencies, local governments and agricultural institutions, including Jeonbuk State Governor Lee Won-taek and Rural Development Administration Administrator Lee Seung-don. Daedong unveiled a precision agriculture model suited to large-scale reclaimed farmland, demonstrating technologies for tillage, agricultural input transport and crop protection using AI tractors, transport robots and agricultural drones. By connecting farm machinery, fieldwork data and precision agriculture services, Daedong presented a future farming model designed to improve operational efficiency and productivity on large-scale reclaimed farmland. The company plans to further advance these technologies to help expand the adoption of future agriculture models on reclaimed farmland.

In the orchard sector, Daedong demonstrated the capabilities of its transport and mowing robots at a field demonstration held in Daechang-myeon, Yeongcheon-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, on July 28, 2026, as part of the Project to Scale Up Integrated Smart Technology Demonstration Models for Open-Field Farming. Running from 2025 to 2026, the project is installing and deploying smart farming technologies across 25.9 hectares of peach orchards operated by 22 farms belonging to the Yeongcheon Peach Smart Farming Study Group. Twenty-two Daedong autonomous transport robots have also been deployed at participating farms, where they are used to transport agricultural inputs and harvested produce. About 70 people attended the event, including Mayor Kim Byeong-sam of Yeongcheon-si, local government officials and peach farmers.

At the site, Daedong fitted an autonomous transport robot with an attachment kit to demonstrate agricultural input transport and mowing beneath orchard trees. The demonstration showed that a single robot could perform multiple farming tasks, including transport and mowing, by changing attachments to suit the task. Orchards require substantial labor to repeatedly transport agricultural inputs and harvested produce and remove weeds between and beneath trees. Daedong plans to collect operational data from robots deployed on working farms and add a wider range of implements, further developing the robots into multipurpose agricultural robots for fruit growers.

In Dangjin-si, Chungcheongnam-do, Daedong presented a new rice farming model combining an early-harvest rice variety with AI-powered autonomous farm machinery. A ‘Ppareumihyang’ rice harvesting and transplanting event using AI-powered autonomous farm machinery was held in Sinpyeong-myeon, Dangjin-si, on July 31, 2026. It drew about 100 attendees, including Chungcheongnam-do Governor Park Su-hyeon, Mayor Kim Gi-jae of Dangjin-si, local farmers and representatives from agricultural technology centers.
At the event, ‘Ppareumihyang,’ an ultra-early-maturing rice variety transplanted on May 6, 2026, was harvested using an autonomous combine harvester after 86 days. The demonstration continued on the same day with a coordinated sequence of plowing and leveling by an AI tractor, replanting by a rice transplanter equipped for straight-line autonomous driving, and seedling tray transport by an autonomous transport robot. This demonstrated the potential for double cropping using Ppareumihyang’s short growing period. It also presented a future cultivation model that connects autonomous farm machinery across successive stages of fieldwork to address labor shortages, enable timely operations and improve land utilization.
