On August 24, Daedong Group's agtech platform company Daedong (Co-CEOs Kim Jun-Sik, Won Yu-Hyun) announced plans to introduce a new customized farming information service for farmers in order to help innovate “Daedong Connect,” the company’s remote management service app for agricultural machinery, into an agricultural solution platform.
Daedong plans to offer solutions that enable farmers to maximize the harvest of high-quality agricultural products and generate maximum profits with minimal resources throughout the entire agricultural cycle, including the preparing, seeding, growing, harvesting, and distributing of crops to establish the Connect app as its platform for agricultural services and solutions. Currently, Daedong provides remote management and control services for its agricultural machinery, including ① vehicle control, ② vehicle management, ③ work logs, ④ safe zones and time setting, and ⑤ emergency calls, used in order to grow and harvest crops.
Installing the Connect app with updated farming information services and registering farming information such as farm address, crops of interest, cultivation type, and region, users can check real-time auction prices of agricultural products traded in wholesale markets around registered farms along with weekly updates on growing for each crop of interest. Users can also sort the crops they are growing and cultivation types for each farm registered in the app, making it much easier to manage multiple fields and facilities.
Moreover, in order to efficiently utilize agricultural industry policies and get easier access to farming data, the app provides customized agricultural policy support and information tailored to the needs of each user. Here, support information includes financial support and training/recruitment information provided by local governments within the entire agricultural industry value chain, including seeds, seedlings, production, processing, distribution, sales, etc., and the app provides various information from related organizations where farmers can receive support in leading productive lives in rural areas.
