Daedong signs business agreement with the Korea Petroleum Quality & Distribution Authority’s Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do regional office to protect farmers' rights and interests
- Company invites a public institution to inspect the fuel used in agricultural machinery to earn trust and improve customer satisfaction
- Daedong will analyze problems and establish countermeasures with rapid inspections of faulty fuel systems in agricultural machinery to offer precision services
- In the mid- to long-term, company wants to research and develop eco-friendly, high-efficiency petroleum alternatives compatible with agricultural powertrains
Daedong (Co-CEO: Kim Jun-Sik and Won Yu-Hyun), Daedong Group’s parent company and a leader in future agtech, announced on June 3 that it signed a business agreement with the Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do headquarters of the Korea Petroleum Quality & Distribution Authority (K-Petro; CEO: Jin Gyeong-Rok) to prevent the distribution of substandard fuel and protect farmers' rights and interests.
The agreement aims to protect farmers who use agricultural fuels, which receive less attention compared to fuels used in passenger vehicles, and to promote the rights and interests of farmers across Korea with greater cooperation between the public and private sectors. To this end, Daedong and K-Petro will help analyze the causes of petroleum fuel problems, cooperate over public relations initiatives, and work together in pushing and supporting joint projects. K-Petro plans to verify the quality of fuel used by Daedong customers (agricultural machinery users) to eradicate the distribution of substandard petroleum products.
Having its fuel inspected and verified by a national institution, analyzing the cause of fuel problems, and establishing countermeasures with rapid inspections of fuel systems in malfunctioning agricultural machinery will, in turn, help Daedong earn the public’s trust. Moreover, Daedong is expecting to improve customer satisfaction with priority inspections of fuels used by its agricultural machinery, which could help determine the parties liable for service and repairs caused by substandard fuel.
In order to establish a healthy distribution system for fuels used in the agricultural sector, Daedong will distribute user manuals on how to report substandard petroleum products and also print instructions on sun visors installed in its agricultural machinery going forward. Over the mid- to long-term, both Daedong and K-Petro plan to research and develop eco-friendly, high-efficiency petroleum alternative fuels compatible with agricultural engines.
Meanwhile, since 2021, Daedong has been offering a 10-year/3,000-hour free warranty service (powertrain and transmission) on its tractors, the first agricultural machinery maker to do so, to better serve and satisfy its customers in Korea. In addition, Daedong launched its ICT-based Daedong Connect app in the same year to give customers a better user experience and offer them a new way of interacting with the company. The app allows users to remote control and manage their agricultural machinery using smart devices.
