On January 3, Kim Jun-Sik, the CEO of Daedong Group, announced through his New Year's address to employees that 2025 will be the first year Daedong fully realizes its vision, committing to quantitative growth in global markets and the development of new businesses such as transport robots and precision agriculture.
He stated, “This year, uncertainty is expected to peak as President Trump begins his second term in office, as major countries shift to a monetary policy that cuts interest rates, and as everyone pursues fiscal soundness in the face of deficits. However, we have thoroughly prepared for both the present and future by transforming our business since 2020. 2025 will be the year we reap the fruits of these efforts and realize the vision we have set.” Kim presented three key initiatives for Daedong's growth in 2025: ▲Quantitative growth across the globe, ▲full-scale development of future businesses, and a ▲change in motivation and mindset.

First, in terms of quantitative growth worldwide, he set major goals for 2025 such as achieving a 10% market share in North America, increasing sales and the proportion of medium and large tractors in the European market, establishing a foundation for new CCE businesses, and stabilizing new markets such as Ukraine and Türkiye. Kim says the also plans to equip all tractor products with telematics (TMS) and export them to the United States. Daedong previously worked on improving the structure of its European subsidiary in 2023 and its North American subsidiary in 2024 to make its business more competitive across the globe. Kim highlighted, “In a market environment with increased uncertainty, we must maintain a ‘stable growth trend’ by establishing flexible strategies suited to changes in the market. These strategies should be driven by closer cooperation and communication between headquarters and overseas subsidiaries, and continued efforts to add new sources of competitiveness to not only products but also parts, services, and the financial support for dealers.”
Precision agriculture and transport robots, which Daedong has been preparing for a long time as one of its future businesses, will also begin full-scale commercialization. Over the past four years, the company has accrued a vast amount of data through precision agriculture demonstrations across 135.54ha (410,000 pyeong) of farmland. Based on the results, Daedong plans to start full-scale business operations this year, beginning with B2G deals. Additionally, Daedong is set to launch the industry's first autonomous transport robot in the first quarter, heralding the dawn of a new future with agricultural robots. Kim plans to first introduce Daedong's new services and products such as precision agriculture and transport robots in Korea, spearhead innovation in future agriculture, build a foundation for growth in future businesses, and gain successful experiences before entering the global market.
While extolling the need for external growth and internal stability by growing the company’s share of the global market and developing new businesses in Korea, Kim also emphasized the importance of “motivation” for his employees. He stressed, “The motivation to achieve our vision is the most important factor for us right now. Levering this motivation, we need a mindset to set specific and actionable plans and carry them out to the end no matter what happens.” Recognizing that the potential of future agriculture is limitless but could also be a challenging endeavor, he focused on “motivation” as the key to overcoming these challenges.
Finally, Kim pledged, “As Chong Yagyong said, ‘Opportunity comes to those who are prepared.’ We have been preparing for a quantum leap with relentless efforts over the past five years. 2025 will be the year we pioneer a new path that no one has taken before, and prove to the world Daedong’s achievements as a leading company in future agriculture.”
