Daedong Launches New LK Tractor Optimized for Orchard Farming
-. Compact design with 3.26m length and 2.4m height for easy maneuvering in narrow orchards
-. Maximized attachment control with class-leading features including a multi-coupler, MLS hydraulic system, and enhanced lifting capacity
-. Aiming to sell 54,000 units over five years, with expansion into North America and Europe planned for the second half
Daedong (Co-CEOs Kim Jun-sik and Won Yu-hyun), a leader and pioneer in future agriculture, announced on March 5 that it will launch two new compact tractor models with premium specifications in the domestic market: the LK4005VU (40 horsepower) and LK3605VU (35 horsepower).

The new LK series is designed specifically around the working conditions and usage patterns of orchard farms. To support operations such as mowing, branch shredding, and spraying while navigating between trees, the tractors feature a compact body measuring 3.26 meters in length and 2.4 meters in height. They offer best-in-class minimum ground clearance of 290 mm, ensuring smoother obstacle clearance and improved maneuverability in tight orchard rows. When fitted with narrow orchard tires, the tractors deliver strong mobility even in confined working environments.
To enable more efficient and comfortable operation, the tractor enhances the performance of rear-mounted attachment connection and control. The hitch control system has been upgraded from a PCV (Position Control Valve) to an MLS (Mita Load Sensing) hydraulic system. While the PCV requires manual adjustment of flow using a lever, the MLS system automatically detects workload and supplies only the necessary flow and pressure, significantly improving efficiency and operational stability.
The lifting capacity has been substantially increased from 740 kgf to 953 kgf. Compatibility and mounting ease with key attachments such as loaders, backhoes, and mid-mowers have been improved, allowing for greater versatility across various working environments. The tractor features a class-exclusive “multi-coupler” that enables four hydraulic hoses to be connected or disconnected at once, minimizing the risk of oil leakage and attachment connection errors.
A range of convenience features has also been incorporated to enhance usability. Features such as a tilt steering wheel and LED work lights enable stable and comfortable operation not only in orchards but across diverse environments including greenhouses and open fields. The control layout has been redesigned and display visibility improved, helping reduce operator fatigue during extended use.
The new LK series is equipped with a telematics (TMS) system that enables remote monitoring and management. Users can monitor key operating data and equipment status in real time via the Daedong Connect app, while maintenance alerts and remote diagnostics support proactive servicing. In addition, data-driven insights on operating history and work performance help users plan tasks more systematically and efficiently.
Daedong plans to launch the new LK series in the domestic market first, followed by a phased rollout in North America in the second quarter and Europe in the third quarter. In North America, the company will broaden its customer base by offering premium features such as an expanded seat cushion and a telescopic steering wheel. In Europe, it aims to strengthen competitiveness through a premium positioning strategy combined with region-specific specifications. Over the next five years, Daedong targets cumulative global sales of approximately 54,000 units, reinforcing its position in the compact tractor market both domestically and internationally.
