Daedong Earns EcoVadis Silver Medal, Ranks Among Top 15% Globally in ESG

-. Enterprise-wide ESG framework and stronger supply chain capabilities drive improved performance

-. Recognized for disciplined environmental management, execution-focused operations, and robust industrial safety practices

-. Accelerates upgrades to its Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) system to strengthen ESG execution

Daedong (Co-CEOs Kim Jun-sik and Won Yu-hyun), a leader and pioneer in future agriculture, announced on March 19 that it has been awarded a Silver Medal by EcoVadis, a global ESG ratings platform, recognizing its strength in sustainable management.

EcoVadis evaluates more than 100,000 companies across over 180 countries, covering four key areas: ▲environment ▲labor and human rights ▲ethics ▲sustainable procurement. Daedong’s Silver Medal places it among the top 15% of companies assessed worldwide.

This result reflects Daedong’s efforts to establish a consolidated sustainability strategy in preparation for the sustainability disclosure framework being advanced by Korea’s Financial Services Commission, while strengthening its enterprise-wide ESG framework. It further reflects the company’s proactive approach to addressing growing ESG due diligence requirements from global partners under the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).

In the environmental category, Daedong earned strong recognition for its structured management of key indicators such as greenhouse gas emissions, energy, waste, and hazardous substances, combined with consistent, execution-driven performance across operations. The company continues to enhance its environmental management system through established policies and ongoing improvement processes, including the operation of ISO 14001 certification for environmental management.

In the labor and human rights category, Daedong enhanced its policies on industrial safety, working conditions, and non-discrimination, anchored in an ISO 45001-based occupational health and safety system. The company was positively evaluated for its quantitative management and disclosure of key indicators and performance, which contributed to greater transparency. It has built an ethics management framework aligned with global standards, supported by its information security system (ISO 27001) and internal controls. Improved supply chain oversight was another key contributor to this achievement.

As ESG expectations continue to rise across global supply chains, EcoVadis ratings are increasingly used as a benchmark for assessing corporate sustainability performance. The company expects this result to serve as an important factor in maintaining relationships with global customers and securing new business opportunities.

Meanwhile, Daedong is advancing its Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) framework to reinforce ESG execution. The company is gradually expanding LCA coverage, beginning with export models for Europe and Australia, with the results used as critical data to meet global customers’ carbon emissions verification requirements. Looking ahead, Daedong plans to build in-house LCA capabilities and extend them across all models, further strengthening its sustainability efforts through more precise, data-driven environmental impact insights.
