‘Direct Sales Success in Germany Puts the Brand at the Top in Europe’
Daedong Participates in GaLaBau in Germany
- Europe's largest exhibition for landscaping, with 1,100 companies participating and 62,000 visitors this year.
- Presenting 14 products, including small and medium-sized tractors as well as large HX tractors and diesel mowers that will be released next year.
- ‘KIOTI European Dealers Meeting’ with 16 European countries is scheduled on the 15th during the exhibition.
On 28th, Daedong (CEO Joon-Sik Kim, Yu-hyeon Won), a leading future agriculture company, said that it participated in the ‘GaLaBau 2022,’ Europe’s largest exhibition in the gardening landscaping, held in Nürnberg, Germany, September 14 to 17.
GaLaBau began in 1965 as an event that specializes in gardening and landscaping and is held every other year, and Daedong first participated in the exhibition in 2018. This year’s exhibition occupied about 120,000 square meters (34,200 pyeong) space, with more than 62,000 visitors and 1,100 companies from 33 countries participating in construction, agriculture, landscape & gardening, leisure & sports equipment.
Daedong occupied 400 square meters (120 pyeong), the largest among participating companies, and exhibited 14 products, including tractors, multipurpose transport vehicles, and mowers. Daedong introduced small and mid-sized tractors with 20 to 60 horsepower named CS, CX, CK, and DK models as Daedong’s flagship product in the European market, as well as the latest 127-horsepower HX 1201 tractor, diesel mower, and multipurpose transport vehicle K9 Factory Cabin model. Daedong will accommodate feedback from customers and dealers to enhance new products and launch them in the European market next year. HX tractor is gaining popularity in the domestic market, with a 30% increase in sales this year’s first half, as a 100-140 horsepower ‘high-tech & premium’ tractor with remote management and autonomous driving functions introduced by Daedong last year.
On September 15, during the GaLaBau exhibition period, the ‘KIOTI European Dealers Meeting’ , discontinued due to Covid was finally held, targeting European dealers. A total of 60 people, including KIOTI dealers from 16 European countries and employees of Daedong, attended this event, sharing visions on performance, plans, and roadmap for new products and educating dealers. An award ceremony for excellent KIOTI dealers and a dinner party were also held.
Dongkyun Kim, CEO of Daedong North America & Europe, said "KIOTI, Daedong’s export brand, is known as a comprehensive GCE brand in Europe for its great products, including tractors, multipurpose trucks, and mowers.” He added, "despite the pandemic, Europe sales increased 21% each year for the past three years, and hopefully by strengthening company brand power in Germany, we can become a top brand in Europe within five years like we are already in North America.”
Meanwhile, Deadong set up an office in Germany in 2019 and started direct sales. They marketed aggressively despite the pandemic in 2020 by holding KIOTI roadshows in 2020 and 2021, visiting important target regions in Germany to advertise their products and expand their clientele base. As a result, Daedong acquired about 70 dealerships in the German market and the sales of tractors and transport vehicles have increased by 158% annually since 2019.
