“Cutting price by KRW 1 million, keeping domestic production at 92%”

Daedong Mobility launches entry-level electric scooter GS100 Lite

- GS100 Lite, an economical electric scooter with 50% lower total maintenance costs upon purchase compared to internal combustion engine scooters
- Monthly fuel costs are up to KRW 200,000 lower than an internal combustion engine scooter assuming a mileage of 150km per day. Fuel savings alleviate financial burden significantly
- Daedong Mobility is offering 100 GS100 Lites at a special limited-time offer, with the added bonus of free gifts for purchasing customers

Daedong Mobility (CEO Won Yu-Hyun), a smart mobility subsidiary of Daedong Group, announced on July 15 that it is officially launching the GS100 Lite, an entry-level variant of the GS100 electric scooter, which is 92% produced in Korea.

The GS100 Lite is an entry-level product designed to bring a more affordable electric scooter, which often is surprisingly expensive to buy, to the table. The Lite version is roughly KRW 1 million cheaper than the existing GS100 based on the factory price. Moreover, the electric motor, tires, suspension, and braking system, which are the core parts of any electric scooter, are the same as those used in the GS100, meaning quality is guaranteed. Being 92% built in Korea gives the GS100 Lite an edge over other Chinese electric scooters.

The newly released GS100 Lite is 50% cheaper to own (i.e. 50% lower total cost of ownership) upon purchasing the product when riding 50,000km per year. In particular, it requires fewer replacements of consumables, which drives costs down compared to internal combustion engine scooters. The maximum range on a single charge is 60km, and the battery can be recharged or swapped out at “KooRoo,” LG Energy Solution’s Battery Exchange Station (BSS).

Users can enjoy unlimited battery recharge for just KRW 110,000 when using KooRoo’s BSS network for two-wheeled electric vehicles across Korea. Considering that the average daily riding distance of a delivery rider is 100 to 150km and the average monthly fuel cost is KRW 200,000 to 300,000 when refueling 1 to 2 times a day, using the GS100 Lite can save an average of KRW 200,000 per month in fuel costs alone. KooRoo has more than 300 stations in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do, and is working hard to improve the battery charging infrastructure in areas where delivery riders are in high demand. In addition, the GS100 Lite has a cradle that allows users to detach the battery and recharge it at home if that is what they prefer.

To boost user convenience, the GS100 Lite comes with front/rear dash cams and a telematics system as standard. Electric scooters also have better noise, vibration, and harshness compared to internal combustion engine scooters, providing a more stable ride and reducing stress for users when riding for long periods of time.

Meanwhile, Daedong Mobility, a smart mobility subsidiary of Daedong, the number one agricultural machinery company, is expanding its business, which focuses mostly on electrified mobility such as electric scooters and electric golf carts, and is propelling Daedong's next-generation mobility business into the future.
